I would get rid of those injectors. Your timing is going to be crazy and your engine is going to shit the bed. No td04 based turbo needs more then 550's.

If you have something to control the timing (emanage, map ecu, ems, etc) then what's the harm in having 650s-680s? I can understand not using them with an safc, but if you can control the timing, then why not use them and keep the IDCs down?

As long as you have some sort of timing control, it's ok to run larger then 550's. It's almost impossible to tune anything larger with just a s-afc.
Well the SAFC manual says that you should only tune up to 50% larger of an injector than stock ... so 150% of 360 is 540. That means even a 550 is pushing it.
the safc can technically correct for 720s but the timing is insane.

50% means removing 50% of the theoricical flow from the injector. 50% of 720s would be 360. personally i wouldnt go any larger than 450. if i want more injector than that ill do it right

Yea, you get insane timing, so you have to richen it up to take away knock (so timing isn't so advanced). Then you run so rich that your oil thins out and you spin bearings. This just happened on my dyno last weekend. His car blew up the same way on Ray's dyno last year because of 720's and an s-afc.

Apparently not. I even asked if Ray said something to him about his choice of engine managment or injector size and he said NO. I almost couldn't believe that. I told him that I wouldn't start his new engine until he has smaller injectors in there.
