Re: YOLO
My flip one was like $1200 for the new truck... The first one I bought (the same make and model) was like $750

Ya. Flip ones are cheaper, but I wanted something that locked, was, low profile, secure, and didn't block the rear window. What is nice about this one is you can lock it at different positions too if you are carrying something.

Re: YOLO
My flip one can't be opened unless the tailgate is open and my tailgate locks with the doors. In effect it's locking. In reality most of the locks are fairly easily defeated.

Re: YOLO
I had the bakflip on the f250. A roll up on one of the silverados. A retractable on another one silverado and a regular solid one on another silverado. My favorite was the retractable.
Figured I'd give a retractable a shot on the raptor

Pulled an ikon gps tracker out of the truck today that I found. Took it apart and tossed it in the trash.

Not sure. Dealer didn't say anything about it. Had a SIM card and everything in it. So I destroyed it all just to be on the safe side. Lol.

Apparently used by dealers for inventory and fleet control.

My dealership tried to tell me I had to buy their gps service... I said I'd walk away if they didn't remove the charges suddenly it was optional

Put a shorty antenna on. Was already hitting the factory one on stuff. Don't listen to fm or am radio so just swapped it out.
Night picture so not good. Maybe I'll get a better one tomorrow.

I put a shorty on my last truck and this one. It's crazy to me with what they cost the antenna isn't in a window or something.

Re: YOLO
Probably can’t do the window thing cause of the ones with the power rear slide window. Probably can’t do shark fins either because of all the different can configs and it would cost to much to change all the wiring harnesses. Or shark fins may not work with the pano sunroof too. Probably just easier (and cheaper) to keep it where it is as a whip antenna.Chris GTO TT wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 2:01 am I put a shorty on my last truck and this one. Re: YOLO
His truck has a shark fin for GPS and SXM. The telematics LTE antenna is inside the back edge of the roof. In 2021 they combined all of that into the two black warts on the outside of the cab. But the AM/FM antenna is still on the fender.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

Well that’s even dumber then
Both Ashley’s Explorer and my Focus have the shark fin with a whip on top. Could’ve done that I guess. Who knows with these OEMs

You know.. seeing that picture has definitely removed the Raptor from my list. Just too big for here.Duck Vader wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 8:51 pm How much bigger the raptor really is.

Re: YOLO
I would love a raptor. They are just out of my price range. They are what I would like though as far as capabilities.

Have you all seen the stuff about the plug in hybrid ranger that will not be in the states!!! That pisses me off. It’s almost ideal for me. It would be ideal as a daily.
