So got to take a better look at it today in the drier weather and in the day light. Definitely some issues cosmetically and electronically. Mechanically seems great and runs well.

It definitely needs a good cleaning and you can tell was used a lot on muddy/dirt roads.

Issues -

Tires are almost done for. Will need new ones for sure soon. That is $600-800.

Back up camera is not working - this is a MUST FIX for me - $600 for a factory replacement

Paint worn down to bare metal on the door sill drivers side. Going to need to fix that for sure. Not sure on costs though.

Needs a good detailing. Inside is def dirty and stained a bit. Like I said, can tell it was used a lot on dirty roads. Probably a construction site. Sides and rear on drivers side has a lot of surface (clear coat) scratches. Nothing a good buffing probably wouldn't fix but annoying. It is expected though on a black truck with 90k miles on it.

Passenger side running board has a zip tie tied to it and up around what looks like the body mount. Not sure if there to hold it in place or what, but don't want to remove it and something fall off. Will probably remove the running boards anyway if I get it since I don't like them, but am curious as to why it is there.

KBB puts it at Fair purchase price of $23,750. They are asking $24,900.

Not entirely sure what I want to do about it. Will drive it to/from the gym tonight to get a better feel, but definitely not paying full price based on what it needs.

Might be worth looking at a lower mileage one in better shape for a bit more. I just like some of the options this one has. 36 gallon fuel tank, adjustable pedals, locking diff, 301a package, tow package, etc.

If you arnt happy with it don’t get it. Or you will think of that every time you drive it. A couple grand is worth your piece of mind.

Need to drive it for longer yet, but if I like the drive, and they fix those issues, then I might just have to go for it. Biggest concern if they fix the issues is mileage. Goal is to keep it 10 years and put on over 100k miles. That would put this thing at close to 200k miles in that time.

Also hard to find a XLT with those options at this price around here.

Hard to tell in the pics they had online and of course last night it was raining really hard so it was hard to see a lot of the issues. Now that I have had a chance to take a good look there is no way I would pay $24k for it. Too much needs addressed. Still waiting on them to reply back - if they do. If not I will just return it tonight be done with it and keep looking elsewhere.

3 things.

1. No way that truck didn't have a tune. Holy shit.

2. Back is wrecked. 30 min in and I had to get out. Adjusted lumbar and everything. Didn't help. Also left knee is at the perfect height that rubs bad on the door and gets really sore.

3. Didn't buy it and probably won't be looking at ford's. Between uncomfortable seating and the overall position just doesn't work for long drives.

Wife asked if there is any good lease deals available on new full-size trucks or SUVs. I know Ford is out of the question, but anyone know of anything out by Chevy or maybe Toyota? Or if a lease, even Dodge since will be under warranty?

I'd expect to see the really good sales and lease deals pretty soon. Seems like those start coming out around Easter.

I've 100% got to agree with you on the uncomfortability of the Ford's. The seating position kills my back.

Chevy is the most, well Cadillac, comfortable vehicle I’ve been in. Long rides and I feel great at the end.

Never had a problem with a Chevy. Volt is fine for my back. It is the getting in/out and room once in that is the issue.

I had a 96 Silverado that I could spend hours in no problem. Drove it to/from OH to FL many times and would drive it from OH to PA and back many times a week as well.

99 Silverado drove to/from Fond du Lac WI from Madison WI and was comfortable too.

I prefer the comfort of GM but am nervous about reliability of GM trucks anymore.

I agree, why I went with lower miles, the only thing I can add is every auto parts store has parts in stock...and half the price of foreign parts.

Same with the Jeep I have. Parts are stupid cheap, doesn't mean I want to spend my time working on it though or worrying about it breaking down.

Never had a problem with them for the most part. The 96 I had for about 60k miles and in the time only had to replace a tension pulley, fuel filter relay, and rear brake lines that I can remember outside of regular maintenance (brakes, plugs, etc).

99 never had an issue but only had it for about a year

My wifes Nova never had an issue other than rusted out exhaust.

The Volt has been reliable. Only thing was a loose axle nut so far in the 30k+ miles I have driven it.
