[quote=""GTO Assassin""]These aren't Disco Potatoes.

That term is in reference to the turbo's Avi.

Ok, the disco potato's are specifically the GT28RS. It's a ball bearing turbo.

okay, well...still, why's the turbo called a disco potato??
I can't possibly think of a wild derivation for that name..

I don't know why, but it sounds bad ass.

EDIT: Ok, this turbo was developed for a project car (a 240sx), and the project car was named the disco potato, for some reason.

When I think of "Disco Potato" I do not see a turbocharger.
I see john travolta pounding down on a baked potato, still wearing his white suit.

Thanks Taj. I'm heading out there tomorrow to get better pics and talk price. He wants far too much imo. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Hahaha, the Travolta reference was awesome :lol:

And there was a guy using a pair of 28s on his 3S a while ago. I can't remember his name on 3Si for some reason (powertrip maybe?). He had a ton of issues with the car and I don't think it ever came out right....can't remember what problems he was having either. Eugene (RussianVR4) tried getting stuff sorted out a couple times and I still don't think they had any luck. I don't think any of the problems were turbo related though.

The only other GT28 guy I know is Justin (Spookie) and he punched out 700 + awhp with spray. Monett dusted his DS at NG 07. Never hear from Justin anymore as he has gone back to study. :(

Beautiful. Those pipes just look incredible.

The race solutions intake box - can you give us a little more info on that? It looks like the runner pipes are welded to the side of the box. Is this correct??? It seems like that would be a pain to assemble/install. What kind of filter is underneath? Just a typical K&N? Does the box require a special filter for fitament? Is this a cusom job?

Thanks Han. A pair of single K&N air filters dwell inside the box mate. I can't give you much on details as far as anything. I flashed off a couple of shots, then had to go. Sorry....

That looks badass. Your compressor covers are different then the ones that DR uses as well. Nice setup they made you. I'm happy to see it come together so nicely.

scotty, i think it will be just fine. Everyone that is going to pick it apart is talking about very little HP. Those turbos will flow just fine and will give you as much HP as you can take. Put it on the dyno and you will be happy. Everyone worries about their set up and "if" it will work or do what they want. Its not that complicated. I still think that air box will be so heat soaked that it will not help. Just like the rest of the engine bay. It would be interesting to put some temp gauges in there just to see. Anyways man, glad its where its at and hope everything works out on the dyno. Oh watch out for head lift man, those turbos can do it.
