Re: Analysis Paralysis
I love those, the twin turbo version is even better, but they are only rated to tow 4500lbs. It would be more of an Outback replacement, and my wife won't drive one because her super selfish cousin bought one.

If it's going to be a SUV then yes I want it to be able to tow at least 6k. Otherwise I'll get a WRX or STI:ick:

Why are you stuck on Subaru's :d ontknow: With all the "issues" Subaru's have, and the things that need to be done to remedy them, I just don't see the desire to have one, even though they drive nice (though I think my ST drives as nice or nicer than any Subaru I've been in).
I'm sticking with Raptor if it's a tow vehicle week, and Chevy SS if it is a car week.

Doesn't tow enough, only 5,000 lbs towing capacity, and the GCWR doesn't allow you to carry basically anything inside the vehicle, except the driver (but I'm sure people break this all the time).

Outside of the fact the Raptor is a cool purchase that would probably hold it's value, I wouldn't tow shit with that soft tail- when you can get a V6TT package in a newer F150 if you want a F150. But the F150 is also a big ass car.
I'm assuming that was brought up too?
And gotcha, why does he need the 6k+ towing capacity?

Re: Analysis Paralysis
Still say a Tahoe does everything and would get better fuel mileage with that cyl shut down. You really are messing up by not driving one.

Basically what Aaron said. It's rated to tow 5000lbs but the max payload is only about 700-800 lbs once you put a 500lb tongue weight on it you basically only have 200-300 for all cargo and people.

I looked at F-150s they're expensive and big for what I'd want. Basically want to be able to tow the Miata to the track and we've looked at getting a travel trailer.

I swear we've talked about this... They are an option but they seem to be quite expensive for what you get and GM's interiors don't hold up well. After about 70k miles buttons start to have their logos rub off, and it drives me nuts.

We did talk about it, but your not finding what you want. Something has to give man....it had to for me. Lower your expectations or raise your price. Period.

It's why I've been looking at $27-31k vehicles now
Re: Analysis Paralysis
You can buy a bad ass Tahoe for that much. Every option and do everything you want and you can be careful with the buttons and not let them run away!!!!

Ok, so we are back to towing?
F150 5.0L V8. Its really not a big vehicle. Just make sure you get the short box. It may feel big to you now, but in short time you get used to executing slightly wider turns when parking. They also now have great backup cameras with radar sensors just in case.
I know i mentioned this before, but I really like how the F150 sits you up higher than most of traffic, so you can see scan for changes further down in traffic quicker and easier. You also get a fair amount of sheet metal between you and the bumpers...just in case.

Re: Analysis Paralysis
I rode in a coworkers f150. Its nice. Not as near nice as a Tahoe. A truck will never ride as nice as an suv and unless you need a bed to put dirt or taller stuff in, an suv has way more usable space.

Buy an avalanche. SUV ride quality. Good towing. Truck bed when you need it.
