But if I do need to move them, like to get something behind the seat, or because I realize I don't like the recline angle or something, I can't. I'd have to build a build a temporary harness attached to a laptop just to get them moved into the initial position to begin with.

In other news, do I buy a rough looking Raptor steering wheel for $75 and hope I can rehab it, or do I wait until later and get a new one for ~6x as much?

I wouldn't even use the bezel or buttons, so it's just about the rim and the paddles and the internal heat mechanism. I already found a place that sells new leather for a good price, so I think I might grab it. We'll see how bad they want to jam me on shipping.

Kinda wish it was perforated leather on the sides. I can fix that with the leather kit though.

Only thing I don't like is how it goes on over the old leather. Maybe it stitches up tight enough, but it feels like it should have some glue or something to keep it from moving around.



Video is for a gen 12, but the process would be the same for pretty much any steering wheel. They sell a gen 13 specific kit.
