I can tell you that Austin's infant seat barely fit in the Focus (had it in the middle), and his current car seat barely fits rear facing. However when he moves to forward facing, it will fit just like a normal person would fit in the back.

Yea, I havent driven any of my 3S's in probably 2+ years. It pays to have 4 doors and bigger cabs.

Boys are doing great. My oldest tears everything apart and puts it back together (like dad). The other one is a jewel as he actually sleeps through the night.

Based on the current car seat laws it's probable they'll both be rear facing for a decent amount of time.

I never did the while middle seat for the car seat. Too hard to get them in and out and then even help them when you are driving.

I get mad at the whole rear facing. It’s basically saying, you will crash before someone hits you. I really want to turn ours forward facing but she is also small. So I don’t know when that will happen.

Yeah I get it's the safest place, but I'm with you it's too hard to get the seat in and out of that location. Plus on the Sequoia I don't have a center seat.

Our son will meet height limitations before he does weight.

Are there specific laws, or just recommendations? Because from what I've read, you're supposed to do whatever the seat manufacturer recommends. Our has ranges but there is a large overlap. 0-40lbs for rear facing, and 22-60lbs for forward facing.

The only law regarding child seats in Arkansas is they have to be in a real car seat until they are 6 years old, or 60 lbs. Other than that it's manufacturers recommendation.

Aaron I think it’s based on how tall they are, that’s why the weight changes so much. I could be wrong. I’m not even gonna fight that battle so when the wife says I can turn her around, I will.

Our car seat has a height and weight restriction. I recall the weight being 40lbs. My son is getting closer to that, but i think he is already too tall. I mean his dad and mom are 6'3 and 6' tall.

Depends on the manufacturer what the height/weight restrictions are.

Pretty sure there is a national suggestion as well. Don’t know if the equipment supersedes that but seems like there is a lot of open ended interpretation to it.

Car seat restrictions based on height/weight are stupid. If they were in effect when I was a kid I would have had to be in a booster until I was in 6th grade.

Drove the Sequoia quite a bit more than usual last weekend (just about 300 miles), and in that time it triggered both the ABS warning light and the 4Lo light started flashing while in 2Hi at 60+ mph. Neither one actually impacts driving it (outside of losing abs), and I'm pretty sure they are both just sensor issues, but getting the sensor for both seems like it'd be above $1000 plus labor. If the 4x4 actuator actually needs to be replaced it means splitting the transfer case.

Thats kind of where I'm at

But like Jason I don't know that I feel anything else is worth it.
