Really debating on spending the money on skids though. At least transfer case and gas tank. Can get both with 3/16 steel and powder coated for about $400.
Re: Jeep Stuff
I wouldn't bother with those until you first get rock sliders. You can also scour the junk yards for the OEM gas tank shield that was on the earlier XJ's they are beefy and cheap. IIRC some were plate aluminum, but I could be wrong.

Also oem skids have been hard to find so far. Plus aftermarket are stronger.

Did some light cleaning today. Replaced the air filter and decided to look at the throttle body. Was just going to clean it while attached but it was crazy dirty inside. So removed it and gave it along with the iac a good cleaning. Hopefully the gasket is still good. Didn't look bad but not sure how old it is.

Skids are dirty as hell and covered in mud, but look mostly rust free and in decent shape. Going to try and clean them off see if they need painted at all tonight. If not I'll probably install them next week sometime.

They are in the back of the jeep right now and I'm at the gym. I'll get pics tonight.

Re: Jeep Stuff
Too cold in the garage tonight to do much with these. Might clean them up later in the week and paint them with some rust converter paint. Then once dry maybe paint them a fun color because why not.
Gas tank one should install easily enough. Hopefully no issues with the hitch. Not too sure yet about the transfer case one. Need to see where it lines up and get some bolts and maybe self tapping screws.

Ya. Clean ones go for a lot of money out here. That would probably be sitting at $8k+ if at a dealership here easily.
