She tells me she's sorry for buying this Mercedes R500 every time something breaks... which is fairly often. Soon, it will be a $10,000 vehicle worth $5k in less than a year LOL.

I doubt they are all like this. But, some of the items can get pricey to fix. I need a new front passenger side strut. It's $500. It could use rear shocks too. Those are just under $300 each. The transmission needed new speed sensors. Technically, they can't be replaced. You are supposed to go to the dealer to get the valve body replaced and programmed ($2k+ job), but I found the sensors on amazon for $45. The install was quite dramatic and I was sure I was going to have to tow this thing to the dealer. You just have to beat these sensors out of their plastic housing with a punch that is supplied with the sensor kit. It breaks the ever living shit out of the housing and I had to plastic weld it all back together. The fix isn't perfect (I may have to reset adaptations), but it is no longer going into limp mode. I've also had to rebuild the front differential and transfer case. Replace the rear driveshaft with a used unit (carrier bearing can not be replaced) and a new flex joint in the rear of the DS. New control arm bushings. New brake pads/rotors. New valve cover gaskets (which you must use OEM gaskets as aftermarket ones are not thick enough). I still have to replace a coolant tube that is cracked. It splits the coolant to the front and rear heater units. They are cheap, but I'm just over fixing this damn thing. So, I just keep adding water to the system. I'm sure it is just pure water at this point.... maybe some strawberry lemonade mixed in there.
