Had the trickle charger on the vr4 for 4 days now. Still says it’s between 50-100%. The rear hatch light is staying on...how much does that draw AND is that suppose to turn off after so long?

Thats a broad range. Lol! Have a battery tester to load check it?

You need your car to not have any lights on, or using any energy. Trickle chargers cant really compensate for that. Take off one of your battery posts if your hatch is open

I don’t have a way to load teat it. I did move it to go through the window and so the lights are off. I guess we will see in a couple days.

The charger said it was fully charged after I changed it. I’m more curious if the light (and thus other systems) should have turned off after X amount of time or not though.

Trunk light will remain on as long as the hatch is open. It’s tied directly to the battery, and just uses a simple switch. Same for the lights in the actual door too.

Battery tenders can’t do their job if you have additional draw on the battery like a cabin light.

Man I’m a hoarder.

Had a lot of parts at a friends house that he didn’t use. Before I built my house he let me use this house (his grandparents died and it just sat empty and had a two car attached and 3 detached garage). So a lot of stuff accumulated. Well he’s finally ready to sell it so I went over last night to get a load of stuff. Mother freaker.

I picked up.
A front and rear bumper with side skirts factory. An aftermarket front bumper
My old carputer, tons of connectors, 3 bad tensioners, 2 and 2/3rd coil pack, PTU, MBC, canton oil filter, spec V clutch, fmic piping with bung for cross over pipe welded in, a kit to do chromming that I never used, VSS, various pipes, brackets, and random stuff.

Still to get. A short block, an empty block, an engine stand, 4 tires, a small cooking oven, lots more random stuff.

Like what the freak people!!! Why!!!

It would be for locals or trash honestly. Nothing here worth much except the blocks and heads.

Yeah what I'm dealing with is the parts sell for over $300 on eBay so I ask $300 then people offer me $150 shipped and it costs $40 to ship :grumble:

I have to start selling all my 3S parts as well. I've got a whole garage full of spare transmissions, transfer cases, heads, blocks - all sorts of stuff. I also need to fix the trans in the Spyder and sell the whole car.

Never thought I'd see the day when you'd unload your Spyder.

Me either, but I've just lost interest in it. Getting too difficult to get parts when needed.

Make sure you post up what you get here before else where. I know only a few of us have vr4’s but I am sure we would love first dibs.

I totally get it. That's a big part of why we got rid of ours.

Vira recently heard from the guy who bought it from the guy we sold it to. Sounds like it's in good hands up in MI now.

Good! Hopefully someone takes care of it.

I mean minus spyder parts I think most parts are covered now right? We have an input shaft bearing alternative, CF syncros....what else are becoming hard to find?

Spyder parts. So many possibilities of a part going bad that I absolutely cannot get a replacement for, and then my car is essentially worthless.
