How have you not used hp tuners when you owned two other GM products before this?

Because I'm a fun combination of stubborn and cheap. Every edit I've done on any of these cars has been done through brute force reverse engineering. The last straw was having to reflash the ECM in my Grand Sport about six or seven times to get the checksums right and keep it from being soft bricked. It wasn't that awful for a one time, fairly simple thing like disabling the skip shift, or trying to tweak the tire size on the Hummer. I wasn't going to spend hundreds of dollars for either of those things. But to do actual performance tuning? I need a professional tool for that. I can't keep DIY-ing this shit. Modern engine controls are just way too complex for my crude fumbling. I'm seriously looking at taking a class on LT engine tuning.

The Tuning School has a nice package of books, but I've heard the info is outdated and inaccurate. There are a couple other sources with better recommendations, but they're all videos and a few of them are more expensive. We'll see how it works out.

Right now I'm just going to pull the file from my truck to see if it's stock or not. I'm also going to pull the file from my brother's Trailblazer SS to see if I can help him get that running a little better. I may end up mailing this dongle back and forth a few times.

That mansion in the thumbnail is the Ford Mansion. It's about 5 minutes from where my mom lives. Katech's shop is maybe 20 minutes away. My first apartment was on the other side of I-94 from them.

Made it to MI without any problems. The tire noise was obnoxious on certain stretches of concrete though.

How is the tire pressure? Found mine was really bad but when checked it discount tire had over inflated by only a few psi, but lowering to the factory setting made a huge difference.

There are some sections of interstate between Michigan and MO/AR that are terrible for noise.

Pressures were really consistent. I'm super paranoid about that thanks to all the reports of C7 widebody wheels cracking. I'm really glad I swapped that 2019 cluster in so I can watch them on the track mode display.

My right front sensor actually stopped reading about 25 min into my drive, but fortunately it came back a little later. The wheels aren't original to the car, but I don't know if the sensors were replaced or just swapped from the original wheels.

So far so good though.

MI roads are the worst I’ve ever been on followed by Ohio. I’m sure there are worse ones out there but every time I drove in MI it was miserable.

MI roads are definitely choppy in places, but that's not the problem I was having. It was something about the type of concrete used. Especially on I-69 N in Indiana between Indianapolis and Fort Wayne. It was very smooth overall. But it was grooved or something, so it made a total racket in the car. I noticed the same problem when I drove my truck up in Feb. It's even worse when your rear tires are over a foot wide and there's not much insulation between you and them.

My mom did comment on the rough ride on some marginal pavement near her house though. Not far from where the Katech video was filmed. I just had to get the Z07 suspension.

Put 1900 miles on the car. That came very close to doubling the mileage I've put on it since I bought it. It never missed a step the entire time.
