19x12's with 295/35's BFGoodrich G-Force .... I break loose shifting into second.
Its always been like that even a few months after I got them I went to the track and you could hear me chirping down the dragway.

Re: Official Corvette ZR1 pics released
yeah, it's going to be hard with those tires to not chirp them...but at the same time, anything with more grip is going to wear out real fast

Re: Official Corvette ZR1 pics released
I don't think 305's are going to make that much difference compared to 295's and both being ultra high perfomance tires ......it'll slip no matter what...... street tires are street tires
The real deal would be a set of slicks, thats the only way to really lay down the law.......well at the track at least LOL
However: I don't know if I would want to do slicks, I'm scared of the pressure it would put on the rear end.

You can get gripper tires than the Goodyear F1s, but instead of getting 10-15,000 miles out of a set you're going to get 5-6,000. The Nitto NT555R2 tires will have almost 2x the grip of the F1s, but I was happy to get 5,000 before they were worn out. The Nitto's were better than drag radial because they had stiff sidewalls for handling versus really sloppy sidewalls for drag racing.
EDIT: They are street tires, but you'd never want to drive in the rain or any other weather with them

Re: Official Corvette ZR1 pics released
What tires are you using? 30,000miles would be a miracle out of any good performance tire
You could run the Nittos out to ~8-10,000 miles, but at that point you'd have completely bald tires showing the cords...and a couple thousand miles no traction at all

My god I want that car.
I like the fact that the vette looks more european these days.
ZR1-6.2 small block. Yum.... all throttle no bottle! And 335's in the rear.....those are muther fuckin steam rollers (sorry for the cursing but that is justice right there...I'm green with envy. ) Car overall is very impressive! And the rotors are huge! Gives a whole new meaning to stopping on a dime
Thats the one thing Chevy should have done as far as tire sizes with even the C5's they are no where near what they should be in the rears. Even a stock C6's tires are too small. These cars need meat and lot of it.
I love the ZR1 but I still think this car (originally posted by Gate) is the epitome of all things devious and sexy!

Wow! Do you have an even larger/background version of this pic?
Please?
Looks like we'll be running together. I think it's too busy. Too much going on.
I honestly was hoping for something more like this.

That vette looks like it should be rear/mid-engine.

I'm a car enthusiast. I like just about anything as long as it's tastefully and intelligently executed. It just coincidence that GM has a lot of stuff I really like right now.
Spoken like a true nutswinger.
Haha. Just kidding dude.

Its a shame the new Knight Rider car is going to be a Cobra, because that black z06 would be an awesome KITT.

Basically, a C6R for the street. Fortunately Pratt and Miller came pretty damn close with their C6RS.
And for the love of all things holy....give the thing a proper sport seat option already! GM's engineers are already talking about matching this car up against any Porsche, and things like the Murcielago. Those cars at least have grippy racing inspired seats. Not the 'fat old man with arthritis' stools they've been putting in Vettes for the last 11 years.
That's because those guys are generally the ones who buy these cars. They change the seats, half their customers won't be able to fit in the car
And this car looks unbelievable!!! I LOVE it!
