Gave the engine to another guy in return for an engine. Only problem is that this one is way bigger. Gonna get interesting on how to adapt it. These karts are small.

I’m thinking maybe step down a size. Take the motor gear to something like a 14 instead of 11 and a 68 into a 48. Should be similar speed.

Apparently the mount to fit the 212 engine you cut two bars and weld in a motor mount. I have him checking if any mounts fit the 79cc. I think that’s the better move.

Just gonna make my own motor plate. Got the smaller motor, ordered the clutch. Gonna use some wood to mock up.

Clutch on and now I know where to mount the engine. Went and got a 3/8th piece of steel to cut a 6x7 to make a motor plate. Will do it out of wood first, just so I don’t have to redo it.

I ordered a tube to relocate the carb. And I ordered an exhaust to bring it around back. I will have to modify a couple small things but overall should be good.

Nope. I’m an idiot. Strait up stupid.

This is stuff we all know but don’t think about.

4 strokes only rotate one way. (2 strokes can go either). But I have the engine backwards. Someone pointed it out to me. Damnit. Damnit.

Well that would make for an exciting gocart experience.

Gonna pull the axel tomorrow and mill a keyway in to mount the sprocket inside the frame and get to redoing my motor base.

Drilled and tapped holes.


Base attached. I need a couple more washers as I need it just a hair higher.



I need a couple holes in the middle for the part that attaches under and holds it to the cart. I don’t like the ones that I have but I may use the just to save time.

Ordered the chain, the chain tool, and they will give me a sprocket for free. Ordered some square tubing to do the underside part I want.

Need to figure out the throttle as when the engine was flipped it was strait forward and simple. Now it’s not. Also need to figure out a stop to not let it rev to far to start. Even geared correctly we are only talking about 20mph on this motor. But still to learn it needs to be slow.

I hope to have it done by a week and half so she can try.

Tracking info says everything should get in tomorrow. It’s gonna be nice so prob spend a lot of time on the lake. But should be strait forward the rest of everything. Really wanna get it to try it out to see any issues. Heck I almost need to just push her on it so that she can get an idea of the steering.

Wonder what I can do to put a handle up higher thus me not bending way down to push.
