I would get the Honda, I think it’s more reliable than the subi or vw, but I had great luck with Honda’s.

There is something about Honda seats that absolutely kills my back after a couple of hours. Doesn't matter which Honda (tried Pilot, Fit, Accord, Civic, their mini-van..) just something about my body proportions that does not work. Doesn't matter if I drive or am in the front passenger seat either. I test drove a Honda Fit for my mom back in the day and told her "Great car, you will love it.. but I can't drive it". She bought it and has bought a second one haha.
Yeah though might get the Civic Si for reliability reasons. Also aparently its the go to for its class in Auto-X.

Also these are pretty tempting but cost concerns still ... https://www.carmax.com/car/20397832
Get a FoRS. I can tell you for sure car seats fit in the back. Even with the passenger seat all the way back. Just make sure the head gasket has been done if it’s built before 7/5/17.

FoRS are basically the same price as a new STi :eh:

Amazing car. The space with the "magic seats" is insane. Mom is on her second (or third? I think second) and the stuff she manages to haul in it blows my mind. They love it.

Picked up a Civic Si for one of CarMax's 24 hour test drives this afternoon. It's not bad but the GTI is a lot nicer :chin:

Only major issues the group talked about were leaking sunroof and water pump. The one I'm looking at now doesn't have a sunroof.

Took the si back because it hurts my back.

I had a gti as I'm sure you remember. Honestly it was fun in the corners and with a tune. But had a shit warranty and kept having issues unrelated to the tune. If you get one I hope it's reliable for you.
