Local GMC lot has a couple of 2018 XLTs with the 5.0 for about $27k. Might have to venture down the road and take a look.

Those come with the new 10 speed.

Question - found another one - lariat - but far away - and over 100k on it. Would you buy a 2015 with about 110k on it if the price was right? Bought and serviced at the dealer selling it. But that is a LOT of miles for a 2015 when I can spend a few grand more and get one with a 1/3 the mileage.

I would spend a little more and get less miles but that’s me. You seem to not even know if you want one and will keep losing these deals if you don’t jump on them as soon as you get them.

For what it’s worth I bought a 2015 with 90k on and didn’t like the idea but it’s been fine.

Only thing I am on the fence about right now is if I want to sell Volt first or buy truck first.

My dad once bought a Honda CR-V over the phone with the bank sending them the money. He told them if it’s not what it says it is when I get there I will cancel it all. Just saying, it could happen. Plus that gives you a month to sell the volt.

That depends on local laws... You can't give a dealership a deposit to hold a car in CA. I'm not sure if you can buy the car without being in person or without someone with POA present.

Anyone know what year they started the BLIS on the F-150? Can't really find much on the interwebs about it. Looks like the 2015 from what I can tell, but do you know if it was offered on the 2011-2014 years?

What is too many miles for a 2015? Found a couple 2015 XLT models with about 75-90k on them for under $25k, but not sure how I feel about trucks that have had over 30k miles a year put on them. Means a hard life for the first few years.

Basically the same as the first but just a little less mileage and a different color. If I would buy one it would probably be the first one. Sure has more mileage, but spent it's life local. Although carfax show little maintenance records.

Another option I am toying with is spending a bit more ~$28k, but getting something like this:

It has 1/3 the mileage of the other two, is a 2018 with the 10 speed, but a rental.

$25k is pushing what I wanted to spend to start with, wanted to stay around $20k, so that $28k is a LOT more than I originally planned, but it would get me a practically new truck.

If I am at $28k then why not bump it to $30k and get a god damn raptor?

Picking up that black 2015 F-150 tonight for a couple of days. Going to drive it to/from the gym tomorrow and Wednesday. Get a better feel for it. If I like it, I will probably buy it. Sure it has more mileage than the 2018s but it is a lot cheaper and has the 301A package, 36 gallon tank, tow package, locking rear diffs, etc. Those 2018s are bare bones XLTs.

Truck rides beautifully and throttle is a ton better than the 12 I drove. But man this is in rough shape/dirty. Tailgate and bedsides has a ton of scratches and small dings and the interior is really dirty and stained. But it's comfy so far. Will see how it does tomorrow.

Just stay away from 18+ 5.0s apparently Ford made a lot of changes and the engine isn't anywhere near as reliable.

Heard a lot of issues with the 10 speed too.

So far I like it. Biggest concern is you can really tell it was used as a truck. Paint is completely worn away on floor exit on the driver's side down to the bare metal, and dirty truck. Was probably a work truck for someone. Also rear view camera is not working.
