I voted for NSX.

While I love vettes and when visiting my Dad will grab the keys to the Z06 any second of any day, there is just something different about the NSX.

If you're goal is leaning more towards performance, I say Vette, if you are wanting something that will stand out go with NSX. I honestly believe you will not be disappointed in which ever way you go.

I would love to drive an NSX, and I think for it's time, it was a great car. I also think it's got a very timeless look, much like the 1G VR4. I'd never want to own one though.

I live in a world where maintenance costs matter. As mentioned above, just about anything for that car is expensive. Nobody has mentioned what'll happen if you wreck one. The whole car is aluminum. IF you don't total it, you'll find that only specialty shops can repair it. And it's going to cost a fortune. Even if you don't wreck it, insurance will likely be a bitch because of this simple fact.

Honda did that car a great disservice by letting it languish with only minor upgrades over it's lift cycle. It was never meant to be a volume seller, but they still could have kept it competitive with a REAL engine upgrade. Something like a high rev V8 would have been great, and kept with their racing history.

NSX because I'll prefer the LSx in my Conquest when I'm ready for that...

Does anybody know what the compression ratio of the NSX is? For some reason, I thought it was up near 13:1.

Just from the sounds of the exhaust i would assume its high compression. Expessially considering its a 90's car making 270hp out of a 3liter. Its gotta have the power coming from somewhere.

Edit: actually its only 10.2:1 so turbo is definetly doable as long as you keep it around 7-9psi on pump gas.

Here's the ultimate in blasphemy, if you can make it fit.

Use a transverse mount LSx engine, like the LS4. Attach that to a 6-spd FWD transmission, and mount it in the back of an NSX :bigthumb:

That would require quite a bit of modification.

Yes, but think of the confusion on the faces of observers when your NSX has a small block gurgle coming out the back.

Indeed....
