If things keep up the way they've been going, you're only going to get about 2 months to drive your car  Might as well just see how the ME car shapes up.

I'm in the minority that's convinced the ME car will be an all new model, and there's going to be a front engine C8 in 2021 as a 2022 model.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

I'm with you on this as well. I think you'd lose a lot of die hard Corvette enthusiasts if you went ME only. Plus with what we talked about with model codes etc, I think it will be a new platform, and there will be a front engined Vette to replace the C7.

The number one factor for me is that there's a lot of info saying the C7 will stay in production until the end of 2021. I also don't believe they're only going to run the ZR1 for one year.

So if 2019 isn't the last year of the C7, and if the ME car comes in 2019 as a model year 2020, then it'd be unprecedented for them to run two generations of the car at the same time.

I think it's more likely they'll do a C8 base coupe, a more track focused Z06 that's more on par with the Camaro Z28, and then a Grand Sport that's halfway between the two. They'll cede the current high end Z06/ZR1 space to the higher models of the new car.

I do think they could kill off the Z06 in 2020. Maybe the Z51 as well, since it overlaps so much with the Grand Sport. Cutting it down to just the Stingray, GS and ZR1 would be a good way to round out the last couple model years.

I'm convinced the mid-engine will be a special edition car, like the ZR-1. It'll be priced accordingly ($140,000 base is my guess). The C7 will transition to the C8, but I doubt the standard model would be mid-engine.

Mechanics have got to be hating the idea of a mid-engine Corvette. Imagine how shitty that'll be to work on - probably drop a subframe with the engine/trans anytime you need to get in there...

I'm no expert but I have to agree. I'm not sure GM could build a ME car at the current base Vette cost. A mid engine $55k 500 hp car, I don't think it's possible.

My guess is it's something that will give Corvette Racing a better starting point for building their cars, but not a true volume Vette.

The gm corvette plant is closed to the public for 18 months. They must be starting to set up for the c8.

I don't think so. The gen 1 Volt uses a totally different system than the newer cars. Now that I think of it, I don't think any of the compact GM cars use HMI modules.

Research is saying no from what I can find as well. It is OK as I am fine using my phone, just would be nice to not have to.

I do need to upgrade my rear camera though. Thing sucks bad. Just a pain to get to. Need to take a bunch of shit off.

I'm not thrilled with the backup camera on my car either. The image is all washed out. But there's not much I can do about it.

Apparently I can put in a HD camera, which would be nice. But the current one is pretty much useless outside of full daylight on a clear sunny day.

I will say the backup camera on Ashley's Equinox sucks, it's all washed out as well, except on clear sunny days. The one on the ST though is great.

Ford nailed it on backup cameras. I’m super impressed with my wife’s one.

You bought the update for the magride? Or you hacked it in there? Was thinking of getting it next time I have it at the dealer, but not really sure how it is going to change the feel.

I bought it. I'm going to do the programming tomorrow, then let it sit overnight for the temperature compensation. I'll have test drive results Sunday afternoon.

I’m really surprised you don’t talk about this car more.
