FYI the 2017 Crosstrek and the 2017 Impreza are not the same cars. The Impreza got moved to the new platform in 2017 whereas the Crosstrek didn't get moved to the new platform until 2018. This is probably why you felt differently sitting in those two cars.

I'd at least recommend taking a look at a 18+ Crosstrek. Interiors are the same as the 17 Impreza you sat in but would likely be easier to get into and out of because of the slightly higher ground clearance.

I don't know why, but it really bothers me that Subaru is leading the pack.

There is just something about buying a subaru that makes me feel like I am giving up. Can't explain it.

Seriously debating on going and test driving a 2019 Forester Sport. Above what I want to pay, but new global platform, advanced SI Drive, Dual X-Mode, 33 mpg highway, etc.

Right now that is my favorite option. But I don't want to spend $30k

Upon more reflection I really think it will be down to a Subaru. Ugh. GMC is nice but not great. Tiguan is OK, cheaper, better warranty, but not as nice/comfortable/useful as the Subaru.

So it will probably be between spending the money on a new 2019 Forester Sport or looking at a used Forester/Outback.

Thoughts on this?

Buying an older used outback to replace the Volt for about what I owe on the volt ~ $10k.

Then in the fall after the internship or early next year buy a 2019 Forester Sport or newer Outback if they do better deals when the 2020 comes out? I just really like the idea of the dual x mode. Saw some videos about it and I really want it. Only available on the 2019+ Forester Sport.
