Yeah I am kind of with Coop on this one. Not that it really matters what we think, but to me it comes off a bit too much after market'ish.

I like them. Makes the lights look way more modern to me. Round taillights were so iconic on the Vette even Chevy decided they needed to change them up on the C7 and C8.

Coop and Frode will be happy to know I put a couple hundred miles on the car today.
Re: This can only end poorly
I am glad. Miles per mods I bet you at about 15 bucks for every mile though. Not that I can say any diff than mine.

Re: This can only end poorly
This arrived today. OMG. So much better. Well worth it. Only paid $200 for it versus the close to $1000 for a decent aftermarket one. Brand new one for a 2013 C6. Direct swap in. Just 3 cables and 1 nut. Feels so much better in my hands, and they no longer slide all over the place. Much more secure feeling.

Re: This can only end poorly
ah yeah i had thought it was just worn smooth leather. that's much better especially for the cost
Re: This can only end poorly
That looks great. GM just calls their stuff "sueded microfiber". It's basically Great Value Alcantara.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

I've had good luck with this stuff on my pseudo-alcantara. Use a small soft bristled brush and it cleans up nicely.

Alcantara is a specific brand name from an Italian company. https://www.alcantara.com/
It's Italian and it's fashion-adjacent so it must be better.

Yeah I get that it's a brand name, but like Kleenex is synonymous for facial tissue, it's basically just any synthetic suede.Jeff V. wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 3:55 pm Alcantara is a specific brand name from an Italian company. https://www.alcantara.com/

What are you gonna do with the old wheel? It's the same as the one in my Cobalt except for the center cap, and mine has seen better days. Lol

I'm selling it. Listed on vette forum and Facebook for $150 + shipping. No idea how much it would cost to ship though.

Took it out again yesterday for a few errands. Running good and the new wheel feels great

Re: This can only end poorly
I know I do too much on this, but Danielle was really complaining about the ride the other day. I plan on maybe eventually tracking the car or taking it to the local drag strip, but 95% will be on roads. So I ordered new shocks to see if they help. Still on factory shocks from 08 w/65k miles on them. Ordered a set of bilstein B6 shocks for all around from Rock Auto. Forums say it gives it a better/smoother ride on the Z51 so we will see.
Re: This can only end poorly
Shame you don't have mag ride. That shit is magical. Jim Mero (ex-GM suspension engineer) even did his own software upgrade for the C6. Kind of similar to the official GM upgrade for the C7. He retired right around the time the C8 was being finalized.
