Well if you need parts there is a 1990 Montero 4x4 4 door in my pick and pull with the same 5 speed just sitting. You could load it up and drive back with it.

Yea, not looking forward to getting it up on the trailer. Should roll, but not sure how well and if I have enough man power. Manual trans doesnt have a Neutral position on the TC as one would just leave out of gear. Not sure if the Ram is any different with the auto, but it wont matter as this is a full car trailer.

Ohhh...it's an auto. Good luck with that. I avoid those things like they're cursed.

As far as towing, I'd rent a 2 wheel dolly and pull the rear driveshaft. That's got to be better than trying to muscle the thing onto a flatbed.

Meh its about the same. I just dont want this trans to be problematic. Supposedly you can build up the A500's pretty strong.

Regardless of what happens with your red truck, I'll do what i can to help if you get the white truck. I'm kind of useless when it comes to actually working on auto trannies, but I'm good at finding parts and documentation.

Finished tearing the 74 apart tonight. Confirmed my suspicion of one of the rod bearing spinning. Managed to spin around and weld back to itself. No wonder it didn't want to rotate. Luckily it stopped when it did as some of the fragments started to adhere to one of the mains. Luckily that one did not budge. Ho estly was expecting more damage to the rod main but it took it well.

Because $100. I should start posting in the mivec thread now that I know this block is salvagable. It will get built and stuffed in the stealth. This means I can drop in my running mivec into the MM.

Me too. Had to dismount and mount 8 tires at les Schwab to get the final result.

Nope not yet. Been too cold to wash and wax. Will do when it gets warm enough to dewinterize the house.

Yea no thanks. You can find those on quite a few D50s in the junk yards. I just missed out on one a few months back. Just need to act fast. Part of me really wants to ditch the bench for some decent buckets and a console.

Yea but yours was an I4 and blah. The V6 4x4's are all the fun! We got 5 inches of snow over the weekend so i took it out. Drifted all around my neighborhood and freaked people out. Handles much like a 3s minus the LSD in the back, but ive already got plans for that.

Agreed. That is a lot of the fun. Its not easy finding "the one". Plus you are part of a very small club once you do.

That's probably one of the first things I'll do. Bucket seats and a console made out of MDF or something.

Fiberglass and ply would be better for a truck than MDF. Well, if you were using it for truck-stuff.
