Hard to believe this is the same tank.
Before:
After:
But now it's buried back in the truck. The strap bolts are all cleaned out and coated with anti-seize. All the skid plate bolts are drilled out, heli-coiled, and ready for brand new bolts. The only reason we didn't start it up tonight is I ran out of daylight. I want to be able to see any leaks.
As long as everything goes well, it'll be driving tomorrow. Then there's just some trim to tidy up.

Awesome job. I'm a half way decent home mechanic and your willingness to tackle some of these things makes me look bad lol.

I appreciate that. I still feel like I over-reached on this. I've still got the front brake lines to do too. It's going to be a miracle if it makes it out and back on Saturday.

I did. I was going to coat the pump bulkhead in this waxy corrosion inhibitor I got from Vira's dad, but I couldn't find anything on there saying it was safe for plastic and rubber. It probably would have been ok, but I didn't want to take any chances.

Did I mention this thing has an upgraded trans cooler? I noticed it when I was draining the coolant before I pulled the dash. The ports at the radiator are completely closed off, and there's a pretty good sized heat exchanger in front of the AC condenser. That was a nice find.

One of the main reason I got my avalanche is it had one.

But did it fix everything you wanted? Because let’s face it, I can make shit run. Doesn’t mean it runs correctly. Lol
