That car is a pile of shit... The leaking oil means at best it needs new valve cover gaskets and at worst new head gaskets. Then you add in the rest of the stuff it says it needs that's at best a 1k car.

Just buy a Chevy SS already, it checks the most boxes. Sure it's a bit more expensive, but in the long run you'll be happy.

Jen and I were talking last night about paying off the Outback instead of buying another 30k+ car and adding a 2nd payment. Hence this current swing to cheaper used cars.

I dont know why your fighting a tahoe. Cheap to fix, easy to work on, gets same gas mileage, can tow more. If I could stomach the gas mileage, I would own one right now.

The era of Tahoe I would be willing to afford has a garbage interior, also trying to avoid 4spd autos in general.

My Jeep is currently over at the shop getting worked on. I might be able to sell it to you cheap after it is done...

Your wife is going to let you sell it after you finally fix it?

Maybe. She keeps waffling back and forth on it. She understands that a newer vehicle will be safer and more usable, but we have had it 10+ years now so she is really attached to it.

Yeah I looked at it because it was at our weekly meet last night, got the details and price. Then kind of decided it was more than I was willing to spend especially if we're going to try to pay off the Outback.
