It really bugs me when people say that.

The Supra was a mechanically solid car with much lower production numbers than we had, and drastically fewer NA base models to detract from the 'image' of the TT models.

The FD3S RX-7s routinely sell for more than our cars, they didn't have a movie, and they're generally regarded as ticking time bombs just waiting for a popped Wankel to justify a small-block swap. Why do they go for more? The chassis is solid and they were built in very low numbers.
I am aware of the production numbers, but what kind of 3/S owner would I be if I didnt poke fun at the 2jz every chance I could? Its a jealousy thing, I wish our blocks were as bullet proof as theres. I mean a fuel upgrade for us is to put a supra pump in the car, how fucked is that. I will say however I hate the looks of the supra, seems stubby. I think its the headlight location or the fact it doesnt have any flowing body lines. Hell it pisses me off to have to explain the specs of our cars everytime some idiot thinks he has half a clue.

RX-7 is the best of the bunch, it's just a well engineered chassis. A rolling shell with a blown motor in good shape will sell for $8,000! Busted ass VR4 non-running sells for $2500 or less. Hell, there are 3 VR4s local, running for $3-5,000 :(

I know a guy locally who sold a 94 SL with rims and an intake locally for 7k.
Had an assload of miles too.

So em are you saying you buy them cheap and turn around to try and make money but complain when you cant get high money for them? I realize you prob buy them with some problem and fix a couple problems but when you have so many broken and driving down the market so you can do what your doing then you cant complain to much.

busted Vr4's go for about $1000-1500. Busted Stealth TT's... I've bought as low as $800.

I buy them with blown engines, bad transmissions, body damage, and any number of problems in between. I ask a premium for my cars, because that's what I sell. Problem free cars. I spend my money, and Hans spends his time fixing every issue, so the new owner doesn't have to. That's why I ask what I do. And I get insulted when people offer so little, because you can buy these cars day in and day out for that price... but you'll be spending another 3-4k fixing your blown engine and grinding transmission 6 months down the line. You get what you pay for. So yes, I complain when everyone and their grandmother expects to get a pristine example of a 3/S TT, for the price of a ragged out, beaten down counterpart.

Exactly my point, just comparing the fact that $8,000 will buy you a mint FD with no motor  Or you can pick one up for $5-6k that in beat up shape with no motor.

If I was a buyer I'd be asking why a "prisitine" 74k mile stealth had to have new paint and a new engine....then i'd look at the blue book..... then why is the car green

engine threw a rod through the oil pan 3 hours after the previous owner bought it. It happens. was it ragged on? I have no idea. The previous owner didn't own it long enough to rag on it, and I know nothing about the owner before him.

It sat in his driveway for 3 years with a blown engine, and he had started sanding and primering the car to repaint it another color, and quit half way through the project.

That's how I bought it. No rust, no body damage at all under the primer, no body filler, nothing... hardly even any rock chips. I repainted it, threw a 93 VR4/TT engine in it, and put a new trans in it (had slight grinding in 2nd and 3rd gear). interior is PERFECT, exterior is now flawless, and the engine and trans are 100% solid. Turbos are in fantastic condition... it's an all around solid car, worth every penny of the price I was asking.

And Im just ready to tear the hair out of my head at this point. :(
