I have gotten only one so far ... for stopping on the shoulder in NC back around 2009. The cop literally wrote me a non payable citation for "driving recklessly on the shoulder between 3 - 5 mph". I had to go to court where they seem surprised I showed up, tried to claim they had mailed me something changing the date, then changed the citation to "non-operable equipment" and fined me $190.

I had been in NC to visit my sister. I told her I am never coming back. She moved to Ohio for work right after that and I did not return to NC until work sent me here.
All gave some, some gave all.

America is not at war, the US military is. America is at the mall.

There's nothing quite like the feeling of coming back from a deployment to a warzone.

I did that in Cleveland a couple of times on the Ducati in the summer. Got stuck in accident traffic on 100+ degree day with a roasting sun. Engine was overheating and I moved onto the shoulder to get some airflow through it. Had two cars actively trying to take me out (one pulled in to hit me with the car and the other pulled a bit over then threw the door open). Bet his ears are still ringing from a v-twin clutch-in full throttle rev right next to his ear.

That's just it, I wasn't. I drove just far enough on the shoulder to get off the road, straighten out, and stop. If there was a sign that stated stopping on the shoulder wasn't allowed I didn't see it
