H3?
I'd probably have kept my mouth closed about buying one of those too.

We had fun shopping for it together, we had fun buying it together, and we've been having fun driving it together. That's all that matters.

Now if something breaks - will you have fun fixing it together?!?

Bash on it all you like, but I haven't found one single chronic problem with that truck platform besides the head gasket issue on the early 2006s, and even that wasn't as bad as the internet made it out to be. Ours is an 08 anyway.
Even if something does break, it's ultimately just a dressed up Colorado. Parts are cheap.

Careful Jeff. Don't want to buy something everyone doesn't agree with on here.

That's why I didn't start a thread on it.
I was in for a nicer beater to replace the Montero, and then Vira said she'd be up for putting some cash in the pot if it was something we could both have fun with. The H3 was pretty much the only thing that ticked all the boxes for both of us. This one was a cool color (Inferno Orange Metallic), in good, shape, local, and priced below market.
If it makes you guys feel any better, I had to talk her out of Range Rovers. Multiple times

My neighbor has not one, but TWO Range Rovers, including a Range Rover Sport. He does all his own work on them, and he says they have not been bad (he even did the timing chains on the Sport).

As soon as I saw the picture, I came to this thread
Luckily Facebook was watching my browsing history, and knew to put Rob's post up at the top with your comment below it, so the picture was easily visible.

Wasn't so much bashing the H3 as poking light hearted fun at who would be doing all the work

Hey, she was there the entire time when we did the serpentine belt on her Mazda. I have full confidence she'd help wherever possible on the H3.
Now whether or not we'd
enjoy it is a perfectly reasonable question
