Everything is expensive because cars in general cost a lot more than they used too. Getting any small SUV with some options is gonna be in the mid 20s new, if not more. So it's not surprising that after a few years they are still 12-15k, basically 50% of their value, which is a huge drop, just it's dropping from a lot higher

That's dumb, it is only 6% here on cars. And it's sales tax :d ontknow: same as buying something at the store and paying sales tax on that.

Though in Arkansas we have to pay property taxes on our vehicle each year, which does suck.

I was also thinking of the MKC.

If you get an mkc, don’t get that pee color white. Worst color of any car ever. Even worse than green.

MKC has a lot more standard features, and is in general better build quality since it's Lincoln.

I mean, I can be wrong and usually am, but since I've been in and out of a lot of Escapes and MKCs while at Ford I always found the MKCs a lot tighter/more comfortable.

And I like the styling on them a lot better than the Escape.

I could see them being more comfortable because it's a Lincoln, but I would think new vs new, the build quality is equivalent, since it's the same operators putting them together (and I have to assume each car has the same amount of attachment points etc for interior panels).

Styling I can agree with for sure.

Speaking of everything being crazy expensive... You can now option out a Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid and have the price hit $38k (including destination and delivery but excluding accessories)

For the most part though, it is not that cars are more expensive compared to everything else, it is just inflation. Everything is more expensive now.
