You all had me freaking out, just called up the state country clerks office for the 3rd time and he said I have to sign an affidavit that says all the guns and stuff are off of it and they will title it like a normal vehicle. I seriously dont think this will be an issue!

I don't understand why you wouldn't ship it considering the on site fluid changes plus the cost of a 5-8MPG truck driving.

When you talked to Nashville about it, did you mention this wasn't a Hummer but an actual military vehicle HMMV? Small, but important distinction. I'd totally do this if I ever get my mountain compound.

Do not confuse "title" with "register".

Titling it is not a problem.

Registering it on road use is the problem.

The SF97 form, the Federal government document that enables you to get a TN title says, in big red letters "Off Road Use Only"

Look, I'm sure there will be issues, I don't know about insurance yet either. But what you all worry about doesn't seem to be a big deal.

Yes the cost of driving down will be high, maybe by that time I will have it towed. Right now I don't know, it's 870 bucks!

By the sounds of it I will have the registration before I have been cleared by the government.

However my new home state...

North Carolina – Mixed reports; difficult in most instances. Will vary by county and DMV office; most have had success transferring in FL or other title. SF-97 seems to be a “NO-GO.” Suggest proceeding with caution.

I think those really big trucks are considered medium or heavy duty, so they're not subject to the same EPA and safety rules as light duty trucks.

Even the biggest Ford Super Duty or Chevy HD is still considered a "light duty truck". Hummer H1 and Humvee fall into that category. Something like a Chevy Kodiak is where medium duty starts.

So mine has a plate in it that says MMA 5/07. This means that it went over a complete overhaul in 07. New engine and everything. I mean, I just basically got a 10 yr old humvee.
