Just saw a commercial with the newly resdesigned Impreza

I read they did it to get away from the "Street racing" image or whatever. I guess the STi does kind of have that kind of following, but why stab your loyal followers in the heart?

now i miss my 00 2.5rs...i used to be a huge scoob fan, and still am, but only of the older gc8 models...their styling has gone to shit, as is evident, and it is a shame...though their stats aren't bad, i'll still never buy a new one...i'll stick with the 99-01's and drop a new engine in it

Right around the time the Evo 8 came out, I thought Subaru had a definite edge in styling, even with the bug eyed WRXs. But then they got rid of that hideous beak with the Evo 9, and things started to tip towards Mitsu. The Evo X just looks mean as hell.

That '99 Subie > everything since. Those cars had a great look to go with their performance. They need to bring back whoever penned that car and have them work on making something that doesn't look like steaming dog shit.

The new evo is a piece of crap...sorry but it is, they made it 300lbs heavier, its taller, it looks almost exactly like the new lancer. Its slower in almost every area of performance: 0-60, slalom. The steering ratio isn't as high. It looks horrible compared to the evo 9. I am really kind of depressed of how these 2 cars are now failing.

Have you even seen the new evo X? its not what everyone thought it was going to look like. Its a speedy version of the lancer thats all, no different styling.
It does have yaw control though so thats nice!

I dont know what to say about the sti yet, i will reserve my judgement on the finished product. It could look good, but i dont know the 99, and the 04 sti are nice though.

Also, it is supposed to look like a Lancer. Hence the name "Lancer Evolution" or had you forgot about that part?

its just my opinion but, I dont think that the new lancer evolution X, will be loved by car enthusiasts near as much as the old versions were. If my information was wrong than i apologize fully. And i mean the evolution was very distinguished from the regular lancer with all its body differences. And there is (from the pictures in Road & Track) very little difference in styling from the regular lancer, which i don't think looks all that great aside from the front, I think its because it is so tall.
