IIRC that can mess with the etacs unit. Disconnect the battery entirely and then reconnect it. See if that helps.

Check ground on front wiper motor. One of the wiper motor mounting bolts goes right through it. If it doesn't have good ground, you'll have all kinds of front wiper issues. Rear wiper could be unrelated. The switch for those goes bad. Only way to know for sure is to do some voltage checks at switch and motor.

Found the ground bolt, sanded the shit out of every surface and put back in. Nothing changed.
Swapped etacs again, nothing. Can Hotwire the motor to run, what am I missing.
I have swapped switches in the past with no help. Fuse is good.

How are you hotwiring the motor to run, which pins of the connector are you hotwiring?
Also have you replaced the wiper stalk at all?

I use one of those probes that you hook to the battery and so you can give it power. I would have to look when Im at the car which prong I am energizing.
I have replaced the wiper controls on the steering wheel if thats what you are referring to.

It looks like there is a circuit breaker in the motor too. But I would think you couldn't hotwire it if that was tripped?

How does the motor sound when you run it? I was wondering if maybe it's got a lot of internal resistance. Hotwiring it overcomes that, but it doesn't get enough current to run when it's connected through the switches.
I checked the service manual and there's no test for that.

It's not annoying. It is a bit frustrating though. I know we could knock this out in an afternoon if I could do this in person. Remote troubleshooting sucks. Doesn't matter if it's cars or computers or who's on the other end of the phone. It's something I've always hated. I'm terrible at describing things to other people and I understand things so much better myself when I'm actually doing them.

Not the fuses in the junction block by the OBD connector, it says there is circuit breaker contained in the motor.
Also, have you replaced the wiper relay yet? Maybe it went bad.
