The european's may bash it like the did the C6 Z06 on Top Gear. They always say great performance blah blah but cheaply made. There's always a "but" with those folks. I personally think corvettes over the years have not been given the credit they deserve from "over seas".
Top Gear actually loved the Z06. They just said it wasn't as good on regular roads as the Ferrari 575M. :p

Well no shit! It doesn't cost $175,000+

They didn't have too many flattering things to say about the base C6 though.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

The best thing is that it will drive the price of the C6 Z06 down, and make it easier for me to afford one in a few years.

I've become more and more hesistant to mention anything Corvette-related on 3si (even in Corvette threads), because I'm labeled as nothing more than a fanboi when I do.

Took the words right out of my mouth

I'd like to keep owning vettes as long as they keep making them.

Over 20K, and they aren't worth it. No mechanic will touch them (even GM mechanics), and parts can be tough to find.

C4's are under 10 grand now.

I would never touch a C4 myself unless it was a ZR-1, but Jeff has been so kind to remind me how much of a pain it would be to repair if it broke.

I have resigned myself to knowing I could never afford one (I wouldn't go for anything less than a C6), but will still enjoy the car for what it is worth. If I could get out of my current lackey position, maybe someday I could own something fun like that.

At least one of the mods of this site is a Corvette nut, and thanks to someone letting the owner of the site go for a ride in his Vette, she's also gaining an appreciation for them. I don't think you have anything to worry about :)

It is a shame there are so many fanbois and so few enthusiasts...
There have been so many cool cars made from so many different manufactures, why get caught up in the whole chevy/ford; import/domestic time wasting squabbles.

I've always dug Vettes...Vipers...Stealths (3ks are ugly)...Supras, Muscle cars, 50's hoopty's, street rods...well, I think you get the picture. :D

Do not return to this forum, as you obviously have ZERO taste in a great looking vehicle. So long as you don't think 1st gen Stealth's look better, I'll ignore the comment.

I'm still kicking myself for not insisting she drive it herself. I'd like another chance, so I insist you two take another trip to Disney World.

Works for me :)

Maybe I can pull the same deal next year and get another C6 for a day :D

While you are at it, take them to the Chevy test drive ride at Epicot. I want a comparison.

I'm with you..I have very little brand loyalty except for Ol' Mother Mopar.
But I would be thrilled to have a Corvette, Charger, Camaro, Challenger, and Mustang from the muscle-years all sitting side-by-side in my garage.

Yeah...don't know if it was the ride in the C5 or driving the C6. :p

I would have liked to, but it was getting late, and I didn't want to jeopardize your time any more than we had. We'll make longer plans next time. :)

Whenever you use forceful and overt verbal persuasion to try to convince others to see things your way, they're probably not listening to what you say, Instead they're looking for every error in you your logic and mistakes in your facts, all the while constructing counterarguments. Worse still, they don't merely believe you're wrong; they need you to be wrong in order to protect the status quo. And since the final judge exists in their own head, you lose every time. - The Influencer

Love it. The ZR-1 is a great name, but I would LOVE it if they called it the Stingray.
