Just the usual - "aren't they heavy as hell"? Oh, and the term that shits me a fair bit is when people revert to the stereo system as I.C.E! Argh that shits me.

I've had my Conquest called a Trans Am, a Camaro, a Supra, RX-7, etc. Only 1 person stopped and knew it was a Mitsubishi already. :p
3 badges on the car only say TURBO, no other mitsu or chrysler emblems[/quote]

At least you haven't had someone compliment you on your "kitted Daytona."

i like calling my car my baby, but that's just me.

Nothing about cars really bothers me...everyone has their own opinions and tastes

anything referencing "type insert letter here" or especially "stage insert roman numeric here" makes me want to punch a baby in the face.

Chrysler and GM actually sell upgrade kits for the SRT4 and Cobalt that are named Stage 1/2/3. Referring to your Cobalt SS with the Stage 2 supercharger upgrade is actually accurate

Oh, mine got called a Supra once. That nearly started a fight. Also, when people call the 99 - 3rd Gens or refer to either gen as a MK 1&2 as someone already stated.

I don't know why, but guys in the US with GTO badging on their cars just annoys the shit out of me. I don't know why I'm so passionately against it.

Thank god! Someone else who agrees with me!
The "3rd gen" thing is so annoying.
They changed the front bumper and put new lifters in. That does not make a new generation! :p

Several things covered in here that bother me. I always hate if I'm talking about cars with someone and a ricer feels the need to butt in about his "friend" with a "built" 10 second Integra. It's never a 12 second car, never an 11 second car, hell they never go down to 9's, I've always heard 10 seconds from ricers. Thank you FnF.

Agreed, I just think of it as a 2GB. It would be like calling the 97/98 Talons a 3G Talon or the 98/99 Eclipses 3rd Gen Eclipses because the body styling was changed [slightly].

That's arguable about the car as a whole. The only real significant changes from 91 to 99 were new bumpers and the 6-speed.

As least with a 1G and 2G DSM, they updated the whole car. Same thing with the Corvette, Supra and 300Z, among others.

Yeah, depending on your definition of a generation, there's no 2nd gen either. As far as I know, the factories were not retooled for the updates, so under that definition, there's only 1 generation :D But, so many little changes add up enough that it's easier just to say 2 generations.
6-speed, body panels, headlights, PSI increase, forged crank, 4-bolt main, so on and so forth.

But if people say '99's are their own generation, then they also have to say '97/'98 are their own generation..'cause the front bumper changed. :p

Hang on. If we list the differences between a first and second gen, it would read something like this.....

Different bumpers front & rear
Different drivetrain (18 to 25 spline case) (Late 1993)
Different engine internals (Late 1993)
Different skirts
Different Hood

There's enough there to justify a Generation change, I think.
