Re: Stealth or Charger?
Zent, dont get discouraged. Every time I start a new project I have all my planned tools and almost always have to go pick up a new one. I just look at the fact that the next time I go to do it I will have all the tools I need and it will take less time. Still pisses me off but having all those extra tools has been very helpful. I hope you picked up a set of pry bars, those come in handy more than you would like to think.

yeah, I got an 18" and 24" crow bar. They're curved, though, I'd like to get a straight one.
A straight one would have made it easier to pop the passengers side drive shaft out. With that curve, the bar was right up against the engine bay no matter how i positioned it.
I'm not as discouraged as frustrated
I'm heading out to Home Depot in a couple hours to get some quick-links for the chains.
I plan to have the engine out tonight
The next really scary part, though, is paying for the new parts *sigh*. I probably won't get them for another month or so..I don't want to put them on my credit card 'cause the interest would suck

I lucked out when doing my clutch, I found a 5 piece set at the auto parts place. Those bastards come in handy, everything from a small bar with a handle to a nice 3' bad boy. Or you can use my other favorite toy...

The Spud Bar. Its a 6' piece of hardened steel with a blade at one end and some have a flat spot for a hammer. I have an excavators version with a tip instead of a striking plate, it will cut or pierce anything. Weighs in at about 20# (feel like 50# after handling it) and it will move whatever you put in its way. Great tool for any angry mechanic or general landscaper.

You know I don't feel comfortable just taking it!!
Well, minor update..the engine is out of the stealth!! woohoo!!
It took a while to get the tranny off though..i couldn't figure out what the hell was holding it on (the main shaft..duh)
It's resting comfortable on some wood planks, 'cause i didn't have time to fire up the air gun to get the flywheel off. (I couldn't get those bolts loose by hand
)
But, I hope to do that tomorrow morning.
Then the cleaning begins.
Tip: don't accidentally drive around on salty-wintery roads with the hood popped..half the silver metal in the engine is corroded and many of the pipes are rusty *sigh*.
I did get the clutch off..holy crap. The 6-pucks were down to bare metal. Even the "squeelers" were completely ground away. I'm pretty sure the flywheel is ruined
One more replacement to make.

Re: Stealth or Charger?
I've got good stock flywheels if you want one Zent. Let me know if you need anything for your build.
You can't be disappointed in the longevity of that 6 puck. When did I install that? 6-7 years ago? haha

Thanks for the offer
There are a few things I'll need (I'll PM you)
I put over 50K miles on it..but chances are it wouldn't last another 5. I'll take pictures
Ya know, I've seen plenty of 9b's in pictures and so-forth, but i rarely see them in person. Last night I was looking at them thinking "how the hell did they get 320HP out of these tiny little things?"

Re: Stealth or Charger?
You can send me a few dollars when you're ready if you really need/want to pay something. I'm in no hurry.
Good luck with the Stealth
