Wouldn't a snowmobile work better than a boat right now?

Haaa.

Maybe I'll check out that Lincon deal but as of right now I like the idea of a <12k used car.

Good f’ing luck. That 12k is why I don’t have a vehicle yet. You will not find much for good miles in the 12k range.

Depends on what he is looking for. You can get some nice stuff for under $12k if you are willing to hunt and compromise.

yup, I have had 3 slip through my fingers over being less than a day late. Seriously. But the older I get the less I want to compromise over 50 bucks added to a payment. You can get a basic vehicle for 12k. A FWD, under powered, stupid color, not fun vehicle. And for something I am going to spend a couple hours in every day of my life....that sucks.

So the 12k really makes me think you have not looked too hard or are willing to go above it because I can't find anything with good miles and good vehicle in that range.

It depends on what you are looking for. You want something more comfortable, fun, low mileage, etc. so for you it is hard. If Chris just wants a good reliable vehicle until he buys a house then that opens up a lot more doors.

Here is an idea, buy the vehicle you want now....pay it down till you find a house, refinance to get lower payment via the money you already put towards it. That way you have the payment you want with the vehicle you want.

BAM

I'm trying to avoid a payment all together, and I'm discovering vehicles with the capabilities I want, with the condition and price I'm willing to pay doesn't really exist.

Lol @yall.

There's a ton of good cars for 12k. Just gotta reevaluate what you consider a shitbox.

Good reliable cars can be found for 5k. But they're literally point a-b cars. No frills but reliable and decent

Or not have a loan when you go to buy a house. Even better option. Less loans = better chance of good rates and better housing options.

He is buying a house soon. Really doesn't make sense to add another loan right now.
