I'll try that tomorrow, just for the hell of it.

Got it inspected and registered. I built a fitting to pressurize the exhaust. There were some pinholes to weld up, and a really gnarly mess up by the downpipe. I patched that good enough to pass the inspection.

It's hesitating to crank when it's hot. I'll swap out the starter when I get some time. It's also got a weird oil leak on the right side of the engine. I'll keep an eye on it.

I think this story is wrapped up for now.

At around 120k the 12v SOHC's like to start leaking oil at the head gasket area.

My original engine did it and the replacement I put in was around 120k when it started leaking oil from every crevice.

Fun bit of trivia I learned last night.

I'm listening to RCRs history of the New York Auto Show. At one point Roman is going through various notable vehicle introductions.

He mentions that originally, the Mercedes M class was meant to be launched in the early 90s. It was also supposed to replace the G class.

It was supposed to be built on a shared platform with the Montero. The deal fell apart, and they ended up doing it themselves, which is why it didn't come out until 1997.

Dailmer Mitsubishi. Makes you wonder how that would have come together.

Trying to decide if I should do something like this to it before I get rid of it.

It’s all fun and games till it rains. Lol.

They had something like that for my 89 Celica where the glass came out and full seats were installed in the back, I always wanted to do that.

I'm going to throw it on Craigslist and see what I can get. But I'm open to suggestions for creative destruction and entertainment.

Please go away now.

It's about $300 more than I wanted to list it for. Blame my wife for that.

Didn’t it have a big oil leak? Did you find/fix that?
