Lets talk timing

I think I would have noticed them when i checked the head bolts torque.

Yeah....you prob would have if one had come off, not if a lifter is just collapsed. But no good way of knowing without popping the rocker arm off and pulling each lifter.

Do you have any info on the lifters? Used? New? 99's?

So I stopped by napa today, to get belt 060390 well all they had was 060393 (3 extra tenths) and then 060388 (2 less thenths). I think either will fit but I got them both. Seems to me that the 90 I messed up putting in with a pry bar once and so maybe a little longer will fit....maybe not. I don't know if I will even be able to feel it though.

Either one should work. Our tensioners have A LOT of take up in either direction.

Neither one did. I copied that right off of 3si and it's so wrong it's not even funny. I needed a 060408.

Also that crazy bolt that is on the power steering tensioner bracket? Are they diff from 2 bolt/4 bolt? I don't know where mine is and I had an extra but it hits the frame rail and it has a washer on it that doesn't really fit but I know that crazy bolt goes there. And the washer doesn't come off.

That ps tensioner bolt will not go in. I don't know if it's my motor mount plate or what. I even tried to run it with just one bolt tightened to the max but when I started it up it wasn't enough. I was afraid it would throw the belt into the timing belt.

I also just really need a new pulley as this one makes some noise and bothers me, along with covers, and prob a diff bolt. Sucks...I really wanted to drive it today. That stupid belt is on the inside of the alt belt so I can't take it off wth out taking off the harmonic balancer and have to take the wheel off to do that....I just don't want to keep repeating steps. So guess I need to either log into 3si or ask Hans for parts.

Isn't one threaded pointed and the other flat? You might have them in wrong. There is one on the pump and one on the tensioner

Wel since the head of it is so long I just ground it down and installed it. Got my car turned around in the garage and if anyone comes and sees the driveway they would understand that is no small feat. But it's his suppose to be now and when it stops raining I will prob drive it around the subdivision just to give it a quick run down.

What's everyone's vacuum on their boost gauge? I seem to remember like -25 or -30....I did pressure test today and fixed almost all the leaks and it was still around -15. Seems a little much.

I want to set my preset cam gears back to how they are intended to be used. But I need instructions now as I put them back to stock dowel holes and timing marks.

Can someone tell me what’s suppose to line up with the valve cover marks on these preset ones?
