Now it is my turn?

Ive got 3.21s in the truck and quite like it. Then again I have two additional gears and you never tow as much as you think you will.

That is cost for labor/rebuild kits usually. Doesn't include actual gears. Figure about $1200-1500 total depending on where I would take it. Up to $2500 for a dealer to do it.

Not so much worried about towing as I am about hill climbing, passing, on-ramps, etc.

Looks like it has winter tires on. Blizzaks to be exact. That will be another $800+ to put on all terrains at least. That plus any needed immediate maintenance figure $2000 total to be safe. Then live with the 3.08 until more is needed.
Going to go look at it tonight and see what kind of deal I can get.

Liked it and they will give me what I owe on the volt. But going to pass. Would rather wait for a nicer and lower mileage one. Too many things I'd change with this one.

Re: Now it is my turn?
Since it only has the 3.08 gears and I plan on going into the mountains with it, along with eventually using it for hauling/towing, I need to have at least the 3.42 gears. That alone is about a $1500-2000 expense. Would also need to change the tires into all terrains from the winter tires. That is another $800+. Would also want to paint the faded plastics on the back and rear bumper. Also not 100% sold on the white. Since I didn't have the time to see it well in the light and take a really good look at everything, there might be even more I would need to do. Close to 100k so would need to 100k services done as well.
So based on all those initial expenses, it it just not worth it to get this one, unless they give me some crazy offer.
It did drive nice and smooth and brakes felt good. Was also very comfortable. It was a 1 owner that spent it's life in Alberta and had a 5 page carfax. Had it serviced at either Chevy dealers or Jiffy Lube every 3-5000 miles. You could tell though it needs the lower gear ratio eventually. Took it up some inclines and it felt like it wasn't sure what to do with itself.
Told them I would consider it if they dropped another $2k off the price and for sure gave me everything I owed on the Volt. We will see if they come back with a counter offer.

White cars are my personal preference, black or dark interior too.

Gave them a counter offer since needs so much. Waiting for them to get back to me.

Love the pearl white on ours, but I'm a bit partial to that color...

White is probably my 3rd-4th choice. This one was summit white.
For me personally, in the Avi, #1 - Black, #2 - Tie between Blue Granite and Taupe Gray, #3 - Tie between Summit White and Inferno Orange, #4 - Imperial Blue

I like dark colors on cars. Wanted the volt in black but the white was cheaper. Lol

I like the way dark colors look but hate keeping them clean.

Bingo. They show every flaw and are almost impossible to keep clean.
