I decided to start a whole separate thread for the wiring stuff. It's gonna get nerdy.

Anyone remember the $18 Pick n Pull carpet I bought back in March? viewtopic.php?p=953509#p953509
I finally did something with it. A few weeks ago, I cut it roughly to length, and I rented a carper shampoo machine from Home Depot to get it cleaned up.

Before:

After:

It cleaned up really nice. Cutting it is a bitch though. The carpet layer cuts fine with a sharp razor knife, but the sound deadening stuff on the back is tough. It's a bunch of recycled fabric, so it's different densities and textures. It's going to be tricky to finish it off. But it's ok for now. I definitely wasn't going to put the rubber crap back in while I work on the new cab harness.

Now I need to buy floor mats.

Did you say you had different seats to go in? That black looks amazing!

Yeah. Heated, actively cooled, power, memory.

They cleaned up really nice too. Not bad for ~110k miles.

How is the steering wheel cover holding up? Was in the tundra for about 11 hours yesterday and kept thinking a softer touch wheel would be nice.
Re: Let's try Ford now.
It's perfect. The only change since new is it no longer that almost tacky feeling that brand new leather has. I love it. I'm actually thinking of buying one of their kits for my Corvette wheel. The alcantara on that is tired.

Re: Let's try Ford now.
I think I already know the answer to this, but I'm going to run it by you guys anyway.
My right rear brake was making noise. Somehow the outside pad was down to the metal. I ordered a whole set of Wagner partially coated rotors and OEX pads with the thought that if the rears were bad, the fronts had to be getting close too.
They're not. The other rear pads were low, but still fine. There's a ton of meat left on the front pads.
I probably should swap the fronts so everything matches, but just seems wasteful to toss parts that still have a lot of life in them. I can just keep the new parts on the shelf for future use.
What would you do?

I wouldn’t do the fronts until they need it. They wear at different times anyways.

Just do the rears.
Had the same thing happen on Ashley’s explorer. I ended up doing all 4 but really didn’t need it. Should’ve just done the rears.

I agree with Coop and Aaron

They sure look nice. Pads are interesting too.
