What's really crazy is almost every time I drive the Stealth somewhere and stop, someone asks me about it. Guess they're getting so rare now, people are intrigued buy it.

It always makes me happy when I see kids or other people checking out my cars

Same. It’s getting to where people our age and a little older actually stop and like the car at car shows as well.aaronatstate wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 10:38 am It always makes me happy when I see kids or other people checking out my cars

It was cool. It just surprised me. My car is 'only' a Grand Sport. It doesn't have a crazy color or a wild wrap or anything. It's just a little louder than usual. It was still fun.

Re: The Grand Sport. Part 2: The experience.
It is still a flashy car. Even my base plain silver C6 gets lots of stares. I kind of want to do some more exterior visual upgrades, but not idea what. Thought about a black ZR1 spoiler and maybe a mild front splitter, but that won't do much for the looks.
Re: The Grand Sport. Part 2: The experience.
I love my splitter, but I have to think about every speed bump and driveway a lot more than I'd like to. It gets tiresome after a while. It'd be even worse if I didn't have the front parking camera.
If I ever get another car like this, it's going to have front end lift.

Re: The Grand Sport. Part 2: The experience.
I have an aftermarket front camera I use when parking. It is low enough I can't park over curbs and have to stop before them. I rub the air dam getting into the driveway. But just enough to hear it. No real damage. The suspension makes more noise than anything else. Factory shocks so assuming factory end links and bushings. Got new ends waiting to be put on when I do the shocks and exhaust. Need to get a look at the sway bar bushings next time it's on the lift too.
Re: The Grand Sport. Part 2: The experience.
Looked pretty good in the sun today.

And then the check engine light came on during the drive home.
It's just an O2 code, and the car is running absolutely fine, but it shouldn't be there.

Nice.
I've always liked that color on the C7.
Maybe a loose connection for the O2? You don't have crazy exhaust mods right?

Yeah that color is perfect.

Re: The Grand Sport. Part 2: The experience.
I've got an AWE x-pipe and an Akrapovic axle-back. All well past the O2 sensors.
The only thing I can think of is something got jostled while I was changing the oil. It's the driver's side upstream sensor, so I shouldn't have been anywhere near it. I'll throw it back up on the jacks and check when I have a chance.
Worst case I drop the driver's side downpipe and use it as an excuse to bleed the clutch while I'm in there. I did it on the white car. It's annoying, but not that hard.
The color is awesome. In just the right light you can see hints of blue in it. It really works with the decals and interior.

She still looks great. Glad you could get her out and stretch those legs.

Re: The Grand Sport. Part 2: The experience.
Finally jacked it up and checked things out. Nothing is obviously wrong. The only curious thing is the O2 connectors on the drivers side, where the problem is, don't have foil heat shielding. The passenger side does. I pulled up the parts catalog and I can't find either side called out as a separate part, so I don't know if it's supposed to be there or not.
I think for now I'm just going to chalk it up to a fluke and drive it some more. I checked the test conditions for the DTC, and one of the requirements is to be between 45 and 60 mph. I don't hit that on my typical commute to work. So I need to get it into that window to see if it'll clear itself out.
For fun, I tried to put it in gear on the jacks and let it run at that speed. The traction control did not like that one bit.

I did that with my crv once to try and track down an issue. The abs was pissed. It went away about a mile of regular driving.Jeff V. wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 4:26 pm Finally jacked it up and checked things out. Nothing is obviously wrong. Check engine light went out on its own. Guess it was just a fluke after all. Looks like the disarm counter for that code is around 5 trips. I wasn't keeping an exact count.
