Pick-n-pull/Tear-a-Part (here), pull a motor for like $150 and drop it in your car, only way I'D do it.

Burn it to the ground
Video it
Post it on Bawc
We all laugh
and the price of the 3s rises a little as the base burns down.

I know someone that has a SOHC engine... might have a good used clutch too. I see your in NJ. My buddy will come get the shell if you decide to part it out.

I just sold a pair of twin 93 base model stealths with 200k+ on each of them. I got $3k for the pair. So, even if you can only get $1500 for it, you won't lose any money if you swap in the engine yourself.

See i think about replacing the engine, but then i look at the car and it only has 75k on it and then i think to myself with such low miles, it will sell better than dropping a random engine in with an unknown amount of miles, or then having to say it has a replaced motor in it, and people wondering why.

And then i think, it has all the parts to make my VR-4 look good, but then i see that nobody really wants base stealth parts.

I think it all hinges on the interiors condition, because if its in really good shape, i will take it and swap it into my vr4 (doorpanels, rear seatbelts, steering wheel, rear panels ect)

I have an engine with 116k miles on it. It's out of a 91 that got hit in the front.

These SOHC engines are non-interference. I wonder what makes him think a valve is bent.

If you choose to fix it, let me know. I have a guy that is buying all of my cheap stealth's and 3000GT's for his car lots here in Bethlehem, PA

The guy got the timing belt changed apparently by some guy who didnt know what he was doing and it slipped and bent only "1" valve (thats what the guy said). And the clutch was going before it happened (my car has 111k on it and the clutch is original and still works perfect) which makes me think the kid beat the shit out of the car. The only other stuff it needs though is a complete stereo, shift boot, driverside tailight and thats it.

What i am probably going to do is take off the doorpanels and the rear panels and some other stuff, swap that onto my vr4, and then swap the vr4 parts into the base.

He can say a "valve is bent" to cover up other major engine damage, but the SOHC valves can NOT get bent no matter how the timing belt gets messed up.

Only if a bolt fell into a cylinder and went in between a piston and valve.

Thats interesting... That really makes me wonder, since the car was owned by his HIGH SCHOOL SON. Im thinking he maybe blew the motor or something.

It's a SOHC. Engines are like $300. You can't lose money on the car. If you don't want it, point me in the right direction LOL
