If you clean it really well afterwards the new coat will soak into those smaller pits.

What do you clean something like that with, rubbing alcohol?

Yeah. I'll just wipe it down with a microfiber rag and some alcohol before I clear it. Or I might look into some stuff that's actually made for autobody work. We'll see.

Yea rubbing alcohol works great. I would also take compressed air to it, so it can blow out the pockets of dust you have.

Finally got around to respraying this thing.

I'm not super thrilled with how it came out, but it looks a lot better than it did. The surface isn't as glassy smooth as I'd have liked. If I had done it indoors, it probably would have been nicer. But I didn't want to stink up the house. 3/4 of the can is warnings about how toxic this shit is.

Does it pass the 10 foot rule? If it looks good from 10 feet it’s good to go. It’s a driver car, not a pristine snow car.

Latex gloves and an N95 mask. It was fairly windy, which is probably why the finish isn't great. But it helped keep the overspray scattered.

I'm probably being too harsh on myself. It really does look pretty good, despite the texture.

Based on the pictures no one will notice unless you point it out. It looks good.

For all I know it was an interaction between the CF resin and the clearcoat. It might have been just fine over top of normal paint.

Looks great. And if it bothers you enough you can always wet sand and buff.

Ran into this guy at the local cars and coffee this weekend. I saw the stripe and thought of you. Was a nice Grand Sport.
