Security

Post by DCIV »

Okay so back when I had my blazer I had this viper remote two way alarm system. If the alarm went off, it paged my remote.

Thinking of when I am on this trip to get the model A and how many trailers are stolen or robbed it would be nice to have a little security besides the locks.

This seems simple and at least a deterrent.

Would love a two way for if we stay in a hotel I may not hear it. Any suggestions?

Hide an AirTag on the trailer and the car.

Seriously thinking of this.

How does that all work?

If you are that worried just use a long bike lock cable and tie it through the wheels and the axle. Kind of like in this pixelated photo.

I could do that. I just know trailers are stolen and I don’t want that to happen.

You can't be serious with a bike lock cable... Those things can be cut so easy.

Putting that on there, I'd be more concerned that it is a signal to thieves: "Hey, there's something worth taking in here."

Only useful if you have an iOS phone.

Bike lock cable can be cut and removed in around 12 seconds. They are pretty worthless.

I guess I have yet to have my bike lock cut on a car or trailer. Ive used chain in the past too, but there is always the lock cutter i guess

Hahahaha.

True. One of my 4 carbon bike wheels is worth more than the CTS.

Ran across this:

Not too bad especially if you put the padlock on the inside where its difficult to reach.

Seems like this is being way over-thought.

Just sleep in the trailer with a shotgun at the ready. Or sleep in the truck at a truck stop instead of getting a hotel room.

Brilliant. Lol.

I think an air tag and those motion sensors will work for the trip.
