I've heard vroom is really bad and carvana has had some struggles. The closest carvana vending machine to me is 440 miles away.

I had a friend do carvana, they brought him a van on their little vehicles. He loved it all.

Called in again at 5 after not hearing anything all day. I won't rehash all of it, but I made it very clear that I'm extremely displeased and I need to see some progress on this tag thing ASAP.

I can't even get my own tag because I need a bunch of documentation from them in order to apply for one.

I've got 7 days to give the car back and unwind the deal. It really hope it doesn't come to that, but I may need to at least threaten it if I don't have a tag in my hands by Saturday morning.

That, or they need to refund the sales tax I prepaid and give me the documentation I need to register this thing myself, like I wanted to do in the first place.

In other news, it looks like the car has an MGW short shifter in it. I won't know for sure until I pull the console off to swap it out for one that isn't hydrodipped, but it sure looks like one from what little I can see through the shift boot opening.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

Mgw is easily the best shifter for my mustang. I'm sure it carries over to others as well.

MGW is what the guy from Obsessed Garage has. Here's his install video

These people don't seem to give a fuck. I haven't gotten one call back since this fiasco started. I finally called them and now they say I'm definitely on my own for the temp tag.

I'm fucking livid right now.

I think this is why I can't register it myself.

this is even more fucked.

https://dor.mo.gov/motor-vehicle/titlin ... temppermit

In order to apply for a temp tag....I need the inspection sheet. :cussmad:

I can't do any of this without some shit signed by Shift, and I don't currently have that anyway.

They did send me one signed document. By my friendly Georgian (not the state!) delivery driver. These people are fucking clowns.

That's the first step. The second step is either getting it towed or just riding dirty to one of the dozen car dealerships down the street.

I should just have Vira make me a fake one. I've seen people with temp tags that are years out of date. I can make it 2 miles on one :p

I'm sure you can make it 2 miles without one. I think paperwork with you and an explanation of doing your IDOD is better than forging a doc.

I'm more concerned about the insurance.

Will your current insurance cover a new car purchase before you license it individually?

Whenever you use forceful and overt verbal persuasion to try to convince others to see things your way, they're probably not listening to what you say, Instead they're looking for every error in you your logic and mistakes in your facts, all the while constructing counterarguments. Worse still, they don't merely believe you're wrong; they need you to be wrong in order to protect the status quo. Insurance kicks in tomorrow anyway. It's a moot point.

On that note, it's only 'late' because they originally told me 2-3 weeks to get the car shipped. I figured the 22nd would be just fine in case it shipped early. Like if it only took one week instead of two or three.

I know. I was still curious.

Found this on Wallethub (but not on Nationwide).
Yes, Nationwide has a grace period of seven days for new cars. This means that existing customers have seven days to officially add a new car to their insurance policy and purchase any additional coverage that it may need. During that grace period, the new car will be automatically covered by the existing policy.

Keep in mind that your new car will only be covered by the types of coverage you already have. For example, if you have a liability-only policy and cause an accident, your insurance won’t cover any damage to your vehicle

There's no plate at all. I even took their garbage branded paper plate off the same night.

Weird CA plates should stay with the car unless the renewal is due when the dealership has ownership of the car.
