Used/take off tires

Post by DCIV »

Anyone ever do it?

I want bfg ko2’s for the avalanche. But I honestly can’t justify the price. Heck they are more expensive than the wife’s new tires and the avalanche sees 2/3k miles a year.

Anyone ever get used or take off tires? Thoughts?

Be surprised you'll find those in usable condition from a used tire place.

I did buy a used set of bfg at once off craigslist. They came off to go bigger and had about 80% left at 3 years old.

Just watch the DOT date code on used tires.

Most of the reputable places around here won't mount them if they're more than a few years old. You could probably find some cash only place to do it though.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

I do it all the time. Pulled my used Ko2's off my F-250 work truck and swapped them onto my 2019 Tacoma wheels for my Montero. Just had to pay Discount Tire the mounting and balance fee.
