NO, he bought a car that needs a motor (I think its in southern Cali) He's driving to it, intatlling the motor and planning to drive it back. (not sure how he plans to get the truck back)

I did something like that once.

Friend was looking at an add for a Galant VR4 that "wouldn't start". $500

Had a hunch I knew what the problem was and I had a spare 1G turbo ECU. We went out to look at it. Body was in good shape and it had just over 100K. Checked for spark, checked for fuel (neither), checked the ECU fuse (good). Told my friend to buy the car and he asked me how we were going to get it back. Just told him to trust me and sign the title.

He paid the guy, signed the title, and I installed the ECU. Car fired right up and we waved good bye to the previous owner.

My friend did this with a honda except he was the seller.

Guy thought it was a classic distributor problem, bought it with cash in hand.
Planned on fixing it in a few minutes.

Piston had a hole in it.
