I did a thing, a _very_ green thing!

Post by Toni »

The Spyder thread got me hyped again about 3s. Speaking of 1gens, here is what I got going on with the Stealth.

I'm just gonna drop the juicy bits first.

Sample of what is to come. Gonna be real nice with the stealth's black parts.

A look outside in overcast lighting.

Here's an engine bay walk about. I corrected the color a bit but it's hard with the LED shop lights.

Ooh, that's a fun color. :D

The time lapse gif is pretty cool too.

That's.... Green.

Actually it looks damn nice. I've always liked that shade. Kinda want to do my MR2 in that. Nice work

Don’t let anyone try to convince you that it’s shocker yellow. They’re full of bullshit.

That green loos great though. ;)

Love the Timelapse too.

Thanks ya'll. I've been looking for a nice green for the stealth for a while now. Pretty much after I saw Han's jeep Rescue Me green on a 2nd gen stealth. I didn't think that color would work for a 1g though. I haven't been looking very hard, just seeing what colors are out there. I had considered the viper Snakeskin pearl green but it was "too green," it needs to be on a round body. I think it would work well on a 2nd gen vr4.

To me greens are tough, it's either too dark and boring (like factory), too bright and vivid, or just plain barf lol. I think this color works well because it has a lot of metallic in it, silver/whiteish I guess. So in light, it reflects a lot making it look more silverish green.

We'll see what happens when the entire car is done in it. The metallic is going to make it probably look bad in some angles/light but we'll see.

Here's the paint before spraying out the test fender. So purdy. You can see how when the metallic is closer to the surface, it's more silver green, then as it falls away, turns more rich green then lime.

Very cool. Did you see the guy who took off his sunroof and put a flat roof on it? He said he wouldn’t recommend doing a roof swap to anyone. Lol.

Toni, you seen the (older) posts of people trying to rebuild stock shocks. Have you looked into that at all?

I think it's great and bold! :D

Are you going to do any contrasting bits? Black would be easy and obvious. Some fuchsia or purple would be even more bold. Not much...just a few accents.

Love the timelapse too! :bigthumb:

Whenever you use forceful and overt verbal persuasion to try to convince others to see things your way, they're probably not listening to what you say, Instead they're looking for every error in you your logic and mistakes in your facts, all the while constructing counterarguments. Worse still, they don't merely believe you're wrong; they need you to be wrong in order to protect the status quo. And since the final judge exists in their own head, you lose every time. - The Influencer
Is the level of bullshit you have to go through to change things in a direction you want, less than than or equal than the level of current bullshit?

I've been trying to get him to paint it black from the "beltline" up, like the NSX the paint is from :)
