1993 review: 3000GT vs 300ZX vs RX7 vs 968 vs Corvette vs Supra

This was a fun throwback. Our favorite two tons of fun didn't do well, nor did the 'Murican plastic fantastic. But it was still a good read. It brought back some good memories.

Not sure how the 3000GT was ranked worse than the Porsche 968. There's zero about the 968 that would compel me to drive one, much less own one.

Heh one of my exes had that exact Vette back in the day.. I actually got my Texas driver's license in it. Parallel parking it was interesting.

I still want a FD.

You sure it wasn't "it's ok" meaning "it's ok to go buy one"?

Wouldn't matter even if it was. They were JDM only and limited to 1500 units in 2002. Got a few years before they hit that import rule and they won't be cheap when they do.

I’m sure you could build one to be identical to the sprit at a fraction of the cost.

Building a clone wouldn't be that hard. But it still wouldn't be cheap. It looks like even a marginal condition car is still 20k at the bottom end. Cheapest one I can find in a quick search is a trashed RHD import for 21k.

That wouldn’t be a bad start.
