Yeah its a factory smoke look so it doesn't lower the amount of visible light from the bulbs. They aren't as dark as the picture makes it appear since. It's just what I could find quickly on a Google search.

Now I have to decide what to do about the headlights, but that's a far more expensive thing to fix. Used FX4/Raptor projectors go for over a grand

Thats like me looking for OEM EVO headlights. People want about $600 for the pair, or even more. I actually found 2 at the Shootout last year for $35 each... but they are both passenger side headlights.

Yeah I'm messaging a company who does custom retrofit and modifications to F150 projector headlights so maybe I can get something that kind of replicates the FX4 style I'm after

Okay been shopping around and also messaging with the retrofit company. Because I have the factory HID lights my options are brand new Raptor HID headlight housings at $1200 shipped, I should be able to sell my housings for $500-$600, so a net out of pocket of $600-$700.

The other option is have the retrofit company make me a set of Raptor style headlights with an LED C-bar light as a drl and upgrade the projector to a nicer one for $765 after I get the core charge refund.

Reality is I should probably buy a hard folding toneau cover with that money first instead of doing the lights.

Agreed. Get the bed cover first. That is far more useful than headlights that look better.

Ordered the tonneau cover, it's a folding locking hard cover. We canceled our summer trip to Hawaii and now it looks like we're going to go camping along the northern California coast. I wanted to have more secure storage for the trip.

I was originally looking at an LED set, but it was twice the price of the these and looked a bit ricerish. The only LED ones I really liked are $600

Installed the tonneau cover today and generally pretty happy with it. Though the prop rods and brackets for in the folded up to the cab position aren't as nice as I'd expect for the cost of it.

I was thinking about this cover. Can you get pics of the rods and brackets you don't like?
