An hour or so in the freezer should be plenty of time to chill it down.

Eh. I’m not at home. So no harm. I wish I would get longer studs honestly. After looking at how far down the lugs go, and how much the spacer and rotor take up, it would be nice. But seems like it’s not as easy as I would hope.

Bought a drier just for my sandblaster as there was moisture getting through my nozzle.

Need to sandblast my spacer, it’s got a little rust, and so does my rotor. I’ve always been bugged by how there is rust all around the rotor. So I will prob sandblast if and paint it. I saw where you can literally paint the entire rotor and the brake pad will take off the paint only where it touches. Thoughts?

Also got a boot for my torn cv.

It’s amazing that not matter what you take apart you can find things to address on these things. This will be the first time she has been down in 3yrs and this 2 months has taken forever. I still want to change fluids as well.

I wouldn't paint the whole rotor. Yes the pad could take off what it touches, but I wouldn;t want that to contaminate the pad.

Hmmmm. I do want some green stuff pads. So maybe run old pads, take off paint. Swap.

You can see what bugs me. So a little sandblasted rotor and tapped up to paint.

Use some rustoleum paint on the inner hat. I’ve had good results.

I would this if I didn’t want to upgrade next year. I’m just getting my car back going for this year and will try big brakes again later.

Ripped both lower ball joint boot and tie rod end boot.

There goes another couple days while I wait for those boots to be shipped here.

This failed mod has cost my car 2 months of being down....even thought it wouldn’t have moved. Lol.

One side done. Still waiting for the lower ball joint and end link boot but with shipping how it is I doubt I will see it soon.

I really thought I hit a home run. Was looking through my stuff found mogg lower ball joints, thought....I will see if that boot works. Nope. Well found some new end links....wrong thread size. Like what the freak. Come on.

Anyways. What it looks like when I got done.

Shipping companies are still shipping everything, so you'll see it sooner than you're thinking.

Still waiting on 3sx to ship my lower control arm ball joint cover. Ordered it the 24th.....can’t get upset with stuff given everything but I went with them because I figured it would be quickest. Man I was wrong. At this point I’m tempted to put the old one on and run it. Easy enough to swap out later.

Don’t know why I’m in a hurry though, I got fluid to change my TC and rear diff fluid. Still need an oil change as well. I could prob also do a spark plug change if I were bored. But really that’s just another day in the garage while I wait. The weather is nice out and with the wife home I don’t need to pick up my 2yr old from her work so I could be driving my vr4 into work.

Guess I will do the fluids and see about calling up 3sx Monday to see what’s going on.

Still thinking about the vinyl wrap. Still thinking about the aluminum driveshaft. But also the car needs the tint redone as it’s purple. So still a lot of things I want to do to it.

Car back on the ground and an oil change.

Now to get this rear diff fluid changed out.

If I’m still feeling lucky after that I will do a spark plug change just because it’s a new year. I also could redo the lower plenum as it leaks a little.

Just don’t know if I want to dive into anything running again. Lol.

Either way I will try and go for a quick run in it to see if my tcase is gonna leak or not, plus my garage needs a good cleaning with the car out if it.

Pulled the car out today, swept, blew, hosed, squeegeed, mopped, squeegeed again. Broke down boxes, put tools away, threw away the plastics and paper towels, and bad parts. Put away all the bolts and fluids. Wow, it needed it, and it’s clean and amazing down there right now.

Just in time to mess it all up again if I have to pull that damn TC to fix that side bolt. I pulled it out, not even 1mph, where it was parked there was a spot of redline. Now I have a cage on the TC and when filling the rubber hose coming from the pump did come off and so I’m sure it’s just fluid from there but I’m gonna get under there and spray everything down so I know if it leaks next time.

Nothing beats a clean workspace though.

I’ve been tempted to do worse to it.

Drove into town to buy a boat battery with the car. No leaks. Woot. That made me happy.
