Rental car review

Im going to jump the gun and say the F150 will blow your mind. If this the 2.7 TT have fun putting your foot into it because it chirps the tires in 1st and 2nd IIFC. That stupid truck is faster than my 5.7 Hemi and probably by a decent margin.

Amazing what they are doing with the electric start + TT combo now.

I thought they were 3.5 tt, did they change it to 2.7?

2.7TT is the base engine, 3.5TT is the upgrade.

Yeah they drive fantastic, but have some suspect reliability.

I really like the newer Maxima and Altima but I am a bit bias. Definitely wouldn't buy new. Would buy used if I could get a manual. I'm not opposed to buying cheap and 6 speed swapping it.

I had a 17 Altima 3.5sr last time I was in Dallas. It was surprisingly quick and fun for a cvt but I did notice some cheapness in it. Boss used to have a 2010 Maxima and noticed the same cheapness in the interior. My moms 00 and my 02 have a better feel and just seemed more quality built.

They definitely didn't live up to the expectations of a higher level car they're marketed as.

Car in Denver last year was a loaded awd Ford flex. That thing was impressive. Nice, solid, fairly quick considering it's size and elevation. Seemed well built and solid.

Last rental car I had was a new 2.5 altima it wasn't too bad had enough pep to keep up with the traffic in Los Angeles and still managed to get over 30mpg at 70+.

The rental I had when the Explorer was hit and totaled was a Murano and we didn't like it at all. The AWD was a joke, it got stuck when I lifted a single rear wheel in a paved driveway. The sight lines were horrible, you basically had to rely on the cameras and sensors to drive safely. Finally the materials weren't even that nice even though it was a higher trim level.

After having driven a 12, 13, and 20, I have to admit, I really prefer the interior of the 2015+.

Only issue I had was my left knee sits almost exactly even with the door handle so it rubs a lot and can get sore after long drives. Other than that no issues.

Averaged about 18 mpg with cruise set between 75-80 for most of the trip, which is better than the xj.

Hit snow, heavy rain, hail, slushy roads, icy spots, and high winds. Handled everything great.

Now that I've spent time in the Supercrew or whatever Ford calls it, I prefer it over the smaller ones I drove for ODFW.

Give me 2015+ with the 5.0, Supercrew, 6.5 bed, and rear locker and I'd be a happy camper.

Probably would do an intake, tune, and exhaust as well as a small lift to fit some bigger tires, but other than that, nothing else I'd change. I could live with the XLT, but I might try to save up for a Lariat or Platinum.

Just be aware there seems to be some issues with the newer version of the 5.0 and the 10spd gets mixed reliably ratings.

I know, you have a whole other thread about it. Nice thing about the pre 15 models is that they are proven reliable.
