Oil filters

Post by Duck Vader »

How often do you change yours? Every oil change or every other? I've always done it every time since so cheap. But wondering if I really need to.

Also, and brands to avoid? I usually use whatever I have laying around or is on sale at the parts store. Have a couple of MicroGuard filters on my shelf.

Every time.

Avoid fram at all costs. Acdelco e-core is a second one I won't buy. Something about plastic as the filter support bothers me.

That's what I've always done, but was curious if anyone didn't

I’ve changed just the oil in a pinch before. But I also don’t have a mileage I change mine, I change it if it’s sat to long, or getting ready for a big run and I just want fresh fluid in it.

Every time. I was able to pick up 20 Mobil 1 filters at a Wal-mart that was closing for $1.30 each for my Cobalt so I'm good for a while. Lol

Every time for me as well. Stealth gets a Mobil 1 filter, RS and Explorer get Motorcraft filters.

I use oem Subaru black filters, or purolator pure one. Wix also makes good filters. No fram. I don’t trust Mobil 1 anything either.
